The fact that we now travel with bags, backpacks, suitcases, and other types of luggage is the result of travel development that began at the start of the 20th century. Until then, travel was quite different, and above all, less frequent.

Traveling has always been a privilege of the wealthiest and also the poorest. The former enjoyed maximum available comfort on their journeys. They were transported from place to place by horse-drawn carriages, and their personal belongings were handled by servants. The poorest, on the other hand, traveled on foot and very lightly, as they didn’t have much to pack. A bag or a bundle was enough for the few life essentials they took with them.

Until the beginning of the 20th century, a heavy, massive chest was the standard for travelers. These we know from old novels, for example, when a grandmother took out a picture of her husband from the chest – the poor man never returned from that dreadful war with the Turks. But we preferred reading about chests in adventurous stories of brave sailors who sailed to the ends of the earth. They would store their valuables, including treasures seized in distant lands, in their chests in the ship’s hold.

A chest is a very romantic thing. Many of us look for them for our cottages or weekend houses, to give the place an extra rustic charm. However, all the poetry ends when you fill the chest with everything you need… and try to lift it. No wonder it had two metal handles – it took two people to carry it. After all, the Czech word for “luggage” (zavazadlo) originates from zavázeti, meaning “to obstruct” or “to hinder.” It was always in the way…

Today’s travel luggage is incredibly diverse and just as beautiful, especially when it’s made of leather. A modern hard-shell suitcase doesn’t exude much charm, but a well-crafted leather bag is something else entirely.

And now, we introduce a guaranteed travel bomb that will make traveling to the other side of the world a joy—or even just a trip to the golf course a few kilometers away. Or perhaps simply taking it to your weekly training sessions. The bag named Andrew Travel Black is not only beautiful but also incredibly durable. That’s thanks to the honest leather and even more honest craftsmanship that created it.

We do not dictate. We do not divide. We create. We combine the world of current trends and the world of everyday needs to feel and look good.
